Volunteer Opportunities – Street Ambassadors

The success of Food Bank Thursdays depends on food donations and street volunteers.

Who can become a Street Ambassador?

Anyone can become a Street Ambassadors. Our Street Ambassadors ensure that neighbours receive updates about the up-coming pick-up dates and that food donations are collected on the assigned pick-up date.

This is a perfect opportunity for new and returning High School students who want to earn volunteer hours for graduation. As well as for anyone who wants to stay connected with neighbours and the community.

Task 1

Two days before pick up date, Street Ambassadors place post-it notes on front doors of the houses on a chosen street

Task 2

Between 3pm-6pm, on the day of pick-up date, Street Ambassadors go from door to door to collect donations and place them on their own driveway for pick up to the depot location. Organizers of the food drive imitative collect all donations from Street Ambassadors on the evening of pick-up date and make a delivery to the Food Bank the next day.
